Bearing Me! Blog Me! Friend Me! Drink Me!

Posted By: Nancy Cogliandro, Marketing Director, PKB (Nancy, pacamor at msn dot com)   03/05/2009

Pacamor Kubar Bearings is on Facebook!

While the PKB team was busy grinding, lapping, machining, polishing, honing, assembling, washing, shielding, greasing, inspecting, packing, shipping and a number of other action verbs that describe the manufacturing process for our ball bearing assemblies, it turns out the rest of the world was “friending”.    Since when did friend become a verb?

Being curious by nature, we looked it up on Wikipedia.  A social network service focuses on building online communities of people who share interests and/or activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others.”

Well, we at PKB think this is a pretty fine idea and we hope you agree.  Pacamor Kubar Bearings is now on Facebook www.facebook.com.  Our Profile is listed as Pacamor Kubar Bearings so you can search for us and we also have created a Group named Pacamor Kubar Bearings.  We hope that you will click on our Profile and “friend” us and that you will then join the Pacamor Kubar Bearings Group so you can stay up to date with all our product releases, engineering articles, videos, and more.  We encourage you to initiate or participate in bearing related discussions with other rotary motion professionals and hope that you will find this to be an educational experience that supplements the www.pacamor.com website and our regular PKB Rotary Motion Newsletter (be sure to sign up for it on our website homepage).

The idea of using “friend” as a verb got us thinking about out nouns that could become “verbed”.

Bearing me! – Something you say when you need PKB bearings (You can email me at pacamor@msn.com with the subject line “Bearing me!” and I will find it infinitely amusing.)

Blog me! – Something you say when you want to read the PKB blog

Drink me! – Although Alice in Wonderland owned this phrase first, we owe a nod to “Cooper” the star of the classic Expedia commercial (watch it here)
